Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.
This week is dedicated to my favorite books that contain only one word for the title, in no particular order.
Twilight by Stephenie Meyer
Twilight, a most controversial book in that some people hate it, some love it. I fall in the latter group. I won’t ever apologize for loving this book!
Persuasion by Jane Austen
When most people think of Jane Austen, they think Pride and Prejudice. I, however, have always preferred Persuasion. There’s just something to be said for a story of long-lost-love reunited and people loving enough to let go of past wrongs.
Tomboy by Avery Flynn
This book is just proof as to how Avery Flynn is a fabulous writer! She manages to make me laugh with all of her books!
Cake by J. Bengtsson
Casey + Jake forever! This book is a re-read for me. Also, it’s kind of amazing on Audiobook! It’s got romance and a sweet redeeming message. Love it!
Outlander by Diana Gabaldon
I read this before the show came on and I instantly became hooked. Claire is such a strong, resilient heroine. Her journey to 18th-century Scotland is one I’ll keep revisiting.
Illuminae by Amie Kaufman & Jay Kristoff
I can’t say enough positive things about this entire series! From the format that it’s written in, to the story-building throughout all three book and how they come together flawlessly…It’s just genius!
Obsidian by Jennifer L. Armentrout
Even if the main character, Katy wasn’t just, well, AMAZING–Daemon Black is the only reason you need to read this series. That’s all, just Daemon.
Waterfall by Lisa T. Bergren
Another time-travel novel on my list! This one, takes place in 14th-century Italy and is just a remarkable story! Gabby, Lia, Marcello, and Luca are cemented in my heart forever.
Pestilence by Laura Thalassa
If the ultimate bad boy-gone good is your thing–then, you want to read BOTH books in this series! Yum!
Heartstone by Elle Katharine White
There are so many Pride and Prejudice retellings out there that it’s rare to find a good one. Why I like this one is because it only takes the absolute best elements of Jane Austen’s tale and expounds upon it with a unique twist–dragons. Love this one so much!
Persuasion has been on several lists this week. I think that’s neat.
My TTT .
Amazing how many books with one word titles. I’ve enjoyed the Outlander series on TV. https://pmprescott.blogspot.com/2020/03/ttt-030220.html
Illuminae is one of my all-time favorite series. I loved the way they mixed in pictures and transcripts and everything else. It was fun to read and a visual feast.
