Ketterdam: a bustling hub of international trade where anything can be had for the right price–and no one knows that better than criminal prodigy Kaz Brekker. Kaz is offered a chance at a deadly heist that could make him rich beyond his wildest dreams. But he can’t pull it off alone…
A convict with a thirst for revenge.
A sharpshooter who can’t walk away from a wager.
A runaway with a privileged past.
A spy known as the Wraith.
A Heartrender using her magic to survive the slums.
A thief with a gift for unlikely escapes.

Six dangerous outcasts. One impossible heist. Kaz’s crew is the only thing that might stand between the world and destruction—if they don’t kill each other first.

This is one of those books that I’ve owned for quite some time and it’s just been sitting on my shelf for awhile. In fact, I have many of the books in the Grishaverse on my shelf that I haven’t read. Blame it on just too many other books to read, I guess.

But this one got chosen for one of my book clubs so I was finally able to spend some time on it.

Right off the bat, I can tell you that I loved the world that Leigh Bardugo built. It is just so creative and vast. And her ability to plan things ahead and have things go on behind the scenes–but in a way that you just know was planned way ahead of time–it’s just brilliant.

I really enjoyed all the characters, as well. All six of them were so special and unique in their own way. And I’m very much looking forward to reading Crooked Kingdom to see where this story goes.
