~My Review~
This is one of those reviews that is really, REALLY difficult to write.
First of all, it’s difficult because I don’t like to say anything negative about an author’s work. Especially considering with Love’s Paradox, my problem lies in that I was just bored with the story. I didn’t feel any spark or excitement. The first chapter was interesting enough, but I feel like from there the story just sort of went downhill. A lot of this could just be preference, also.
I didn’t really like any of the characters, either. Except for Cherry. I think it was Cherry’s sense of humor that made me love her. I just wish I felt the same about Rae and Parker.
Speaking of the two lovebirds, I don’t know why but their love story was just “eh” for me. I didn’t feel it. Partially, I think things moved too quickly and it was a little unbelievable. I kept waiting for that moment where I’d start rooting for them. Everything felt too formulaic.
Secondly, I don’t like giving a harsh review when I feel like the author has serious talent. Because, here’s the thing: Even though the story was flat for me, I can recognize a talented author. So often I read books that read like a child wrote them, but that wasn’t the case with Love’s Paradox. I can sense that Ms. Kreitzer is an intelligent writer.

Laura Kreitzer is a best-selling fantasy and science fiction author who hails from western Kentucky. Her full-time 9-5 job used to be working in a lab devoted to water dye-tracing investigations at Western Kentucky University, though her passion was always writing. After seven years of dedicating her life to the environment, she made the tough decision to leave the university to pursue her writing career. Now Laura has two series and eight novels published, with several more in the works.
