How do you send a killer to the grave when he’s already dead?
Having narrowly averted an (under)World War, Cat Crawfield wants nothing more than a little downtime with her vampire husband, Bones. Unfortunately, her gift from New Orleans’s voodoo queen just keeps on giving—leading to a personal favor that sends them into battle once again, this time against a villainous spirit.
Centuries ago, Heinrich Kramer was a witch hunter. Now, every All Hallows Eve, he takes physical form to torture innocent women before burning them alive. This year, however, a determined Cat and Bones must risk all to send him back to the other side of eternity—forever. But one wrong step and they’ll be digging their own graves.
This time, Cat and Bones are up against a very evil ghost. Seriously… This guy likes to use his ability to become corporeal to rape, torture, and kill women–because he hates women so much.
Cat, who still has some of her ghosty-gifts from the voodoo queen, is obviously the best to help this situation. And, of course, with Bones’ help, there’s no stopping them.
What I love about this series is that each book kind of has its own story that keeps the main background story going. For this one, not only is Cat dealing with the ghost, but she also now has a ghost uncle–who is keeping secrets… and the government agency that she used to work for now has a new commander–who just might be evil, himself.
But not all of that will get fleshed out right away. Those are elements that will be revealed throughout the series.
I love this. It keeps me reading and invested in Cat and Bones.
Cat and Bones are, obviously, still hot and heavy. Married life suits them. And I’m really appreciating their whole relationship and how they’ve progressed. I feel like I can’t get enough of these two!
