The world was supposed to end on April 23, but Rainbow Williams’s world ended days before that. The mass hysteria caused by the impending apocalypse claimed everything she’d ever loved. Her family. Her city. Her will to live.
Until she met him.
Wes Parker didn’t have anything left for the apocalypse to take … he’d already lost it all by the time he was nine years old. His family. His home. His hope of ever being loved.
Until he met her.
Brought together by fate and bound by a love that would last lifetimes, Rain and Wes were prepared to die together on April 23.
They were not prepared for what would happen on April 24.
You’ve got to be kidding me with this one! I just put this book down not five minutes ago and I am thinking that I’m beyond relieved that I only have two weeks to wait for the last book.
B.B., you’re killing me!
I thought that “Praying for Rain” was just about the most amazing book I’ve read in this genre–and in some ways, I still feel like that. But, the suspense of this installment was crushing.
What I enjoyed least about “Fighting for Rain”, was that I honestly believe that Rain and Wes are a better couple on their own. I don’t like the way many of the other side characters seem to be what keeps these two from being Wes and Rain. Granted, some of that is because of Wes’ stubbornness that won’t let him see how much Rain loves him. But, it feels like I all the other characters are just there to take away from the greatness of these two. Quint and Lamar are the only ones exempt from this, for now.
None of that stacked up to what I loved about this installment, however. I mean, the love that Wes and Rain show each other–it’s just the kind of love that every one wants in their lives. And when Wes isn’t being his stubborn self, these two are pretty much the perfect pair.
The ending. Well, since I don’t do spoilers, I won’t give away the ending. But, I will say–I’ll still be thinking about this one as I move on to my next read. January 30th can’t come soon enough. Thanks for the ride, B.B.
