USA Today bestselling author RC Boldt delivers a seductively unique romantic suspense with a paranormal twist in Beyond My Darkness...
Twelve years ago, I fled, vowing to never again use my power. But everything changes when I break that vow and bring two bodies back to life in the morgue.
It sends me spinning directly into his orbit.
Arrogant. Menacing. Enigmatic. That’s Bronson Cortez, the notoriously violent gang leader who remains elusive to authorities.
He breaks the law at every turn and answers to no one. But when he offers me an alluring glimpse of what lies beneath that iron-clad exterior, I realize there’s more to him than meets the eye.
The man who fiercely guards his heart somehow manages to claim mine.
But he doesn’t know the truth about me.
I wonder if he could be the first to accept me for who I am—what I am.
I wonder if he’ll be the first to see beyond my darkness.
This is my first ever book by R.C. Boldt and now I’m going to scour her catalog to see what else I can find.
I don’t think I’ve ever quite read anything like this one before. Part suspenseful romance/part paranormal–this book was a TREAT!
Georgia is a medical examiner with a secret. She’s got a gift. A gift that involves being able to temporarily revive dead people long enough to talk to them. And when she hears from a few bodies that they’ve been murdered a certain way and to pass the message along–she does.
What she doesn’t anticipate is how passing that message along to gang-leader, Bronson Cortez, will change her life.
Bronson is a good man with a bad job. He’s the leader of the Scorpions. He helps keep his town safe and clean by ruling with an iron fist. Even if that means take a few lives along the way.
When Bronson and Georgia meet it’s lust at first sight. But even though Bronson is a man that doesn’t suffer fools, Georgia–and her feisty attitude and lack of fear of him–are a huge surprise for him. One that he needs in his life.
There are people being killed and Georgia can help find the answers. But she also has to come to terms with a gift that she hates and feels makes her a monster.
Two people have to learn to love–and trust.
I was absolutely hooked on this book. Georgia and Bronson were an extremely well-matched pair and this story was absolutely captivating!
Sounds interesting. Great review.
