The Beat the Backlist Challenge is focused on knocking off titles that have been on your TBR for a while, or even ones that get pushed aside for new releases. I have so many books on my TBR from years and years ago so I saw this reading challenge and decided that it was something that I needed to participate in.

Because of my super-busy schedule with homeschooling and taking care of four kids, I’m not going to go crazy with the amount of books I dedicate to this list. So, I’m going to try to knock off ten books from my TBR list this year. My goal will be one a month, with November and December as the back-up months that I will use to either make up for any slacking I do earlier in the year–or, maybe I’ll get another two scratched off my list.

Here is the list of books that I plan on tackling this year:

January– Poison Princess (The Arcana Chronicles #1) by Kresley Cole & Talking as Fast as I Can by Lauren Graham
February– Gemina (The Illuminae Files #2) by Amie Kaufman & Jay Kristoff
March– Season of Wonder (Remnants #1) by Lisa T. Bergren
April– Six of Crows (Six of Crows #1) by Leigh Bardugo
May– Longbourn by Jo Baker
June– Alice in Zombieland by Gena Showalter
July– Hush, Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick
August– Nevermore by Kelly Creagh
September– Bloodlines by Richelle Mead
October– The Goddess Test by Aimee Carter

As I make it through this list and post reviews, I’ll be updating. I’m hoping at times that I’ll have an extra book from my TBR thrown in here and there since it’d be fantastic to get through more than 10!

  1. Oooo, this is a great challenge! I feel like I have a lot of post-published novels that I haven't read yet. I try to read at least two or three a month, though I might have to skip January this time around. :/ Best of luck with the challenge, Christine! 😀
